ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Construction industry professionals rely on advisors with in-depth industry knowledge and proven experience to resolve construction disputes. The FTI Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice offers a broad range of dispute resolution services to assist construction law firms, owners and contractors in preventing, mitigating or resolving construction disputes. We work with our clients to identify risk and help achieve a cost-effective, trouble-free project from planning to completion.
Taking a proactive approach, our expert financial advisors and forensic accountants identify problems and implement corrections early in the process. If a dispute occurs, FTI advisors have substantial experience in quantifying construction damages in areas such as schedule delay and disruption, design deficiencies, lost productivity and lost profits. We also offer expertise in contract administration, project controls, government contracting, planning and implementation, operations, accounting, auditing, valuation and change order analysis – and, whenever necessary, supply expert witness testimony.
We have advised on a wide range of construction projects in the United States and abroad, including the following: Power-generation facilities Refineries Off-shore production and storage facilities Hospitals Healthcare facilities Highways Bridges Tunnels Airports Convention centers Stadiums Office buildings Colleges and universities Public housing projects Water treatment facilities
We are currently seeking several bi-lingual Construction Project Controls Specialists for engagements located in South America. Position can be based out of Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, New York or Miami.
SKILLS REQUIRED: 10+ years of construction project controls experience on large capital projects. Experience with large mining, industrial and infrastructure projects is a strong benefit. Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish required. Experience in cost estimating, project CPM scheduling and change order management is necessary. Ability to travel out of town on extended assignments throughout the world, especially in South America is required. Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, and MS Project Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing work loads Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and be resourceful Ability to work well under pressure Professional, confident demeanor and appearance Experience in business development activities Proactive individual with strong drive, ambition, and enthusiasm Able to delegate and supervise the work of others Excellent communication and presentation skills and exhibits a strong executive presence Capable of defending positions with rationale arguments Team player with positive and energetic attitude
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Accounting is preferred. Master’s degree and/or knowledge of construction industry is also desired.
