Litho Assistant
Thorough knowledge of and skill in the operation and maintenance of high speed multi-color presses and related equipment. Assist and learn the proper procedure for setting up and maintaining close registration throughout production processes; in preparing plates and selecting appropriate paper stock and inks. Produce a quality product at maxmimum press and finishing speeds. Upon certification, the incumbent will be required to be a fill in Litho Operator.QualificationsA high school diploma or the equivalent in education and work experience is required. Special graphic arts technical training or an equivalent combination of education and work experience desired. Ability to assist and learn how to set up and maintain close registration throughout production processes in preparing plates, selecting appropriate paper stocks and inks. Ability to communicate effectively, to follow oral and written instructions and to maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to operate, adjust and maintain press; to lift, transport, and stock press supplies, paper and related equipment. Ability to work with cleaning fluids, chemicals, inks or similar solutions using normal or specialized protective equipment such as heavy gloves and goggles. Must have good math skills. Measurement skills by usage of a ruler is required. Must have basic mechanical ability. Must have ability to read, comprehend what is read and visually inspect written materials to check for quality and specifications, and be able to discriminate colors to compare to specifications.
